The Festival’s lineup also brought rock idols like Marky Ramone and Rancid and their guitars made the crowd vibrate.  Last time Rancid was in Mexico was back in the 90’s!

It was a weekend full of energy and good vibes.

Casa de Ruido Playlist

Casa de Ruido is only a few hours away, we’ve created a playlist for you to enjoy a few tunes before the show. Bands playing at Casa de Ruido are, Los Amigos Invisibles,  Silverio, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Ruido Rosa, Las Kellies, Protistas.

Enjoy!

Los Amigos Invisibles at Casa de Ruido

Los Amigos Invisibles will be headlining Casa de Ruido an Official SXSW Showcase in Austin! They’ll sure make the crowd dance, with classics like “La que me gusta”, “Mentiras”, “La Vecina” among others. However they will also be presenting songs from their newest album, El Paradise, which got released last month.

Enjoy this funky and groovy album!

Conan O’Brien “Made in Mexico”

Last week, Conan O’Brien debuted his episode “Made in Mexico” – premiering his trip to repair relations with the southern neighbor. He asked locals if they’d like to pay for the wall (in exchange for their name on a brick!), crashed someone’s quinceañera, and gave a full monologue in Spanish among other things.

While Conan often makes it his duty as a late night comedian to have fun, this new take brings in a welcome conversation regarding immigration policy.

Perhaps we can all take a piece from Conan’s new theme and celebrate the diversity that this country offers.

Protistas

Protistas will be touring North America for the first time. This band from Chile is part of our lineup for Casa De Ruido in Austin. Check out their music and don’t miss them at SXSW! RSVP at EVENTBRITE.

Buscabulla ft. Helado Negro

Chicago winters are very long and cold. “Frio” the new single of Buscabulla‘s new EP featuring Helado Negro gives us the oposite feeling. The song is full of daydreaming sounds and beats making us forget about the polar vortex.

Enjoy!

Were you there when Helado Negro performed at Ruido Fest ’16?

Crystal Fairy

Crystal Fairy’s new self titled debut album brings together Buzz Osbourne and Dale Crover from Melvins, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of At The Drive In, and Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes. The album features trademark tunes from the three different bands turning into a powerful sound. This is definitely not a happy album, but its loud guitars and metal sounds will make you want to run a marathon.

If you haven’t checked the album yet, we suggest you do. Hopefully this is the first of many more to come.

By the way Le Butcherettes have an upcoming show at Cobra Lounge, on March 31st. Don’t miss out!

Kinky – Te vas

Have you listened to “Te vas” the new song by Kinky? This is the first single of their upcoming album. The video was filmed in Los Angeles and Mexico City and features Gil Cerezo, lead singer of Kinky, and actress Ana Claudia Talancón as a couple. The video and song are about a love that comes to an end, can you relate?

You might also remember we had them as part of our lineup at our very first Ruido Fest. Here are some pictures to reminisce on that day.
